Sun Valley Lodge offers independent options, offering an easy transition as life changes without having to change communities.‍Independent Living: Independent senior living in Sun City starts in your maintenance-free Studio, One Bedroom, One Bedroom Deluxe, and Two Bedroom apartments.  Our faith-based Sun City retirement living community provides an environment of peace and joy and a sense of community and connectedness.

What makes Sun Valley Lodge unique?

Since 1965, we have developed deep roots in the Sun City community. Additionally, our parent company, Bethesda Senior Living, is committed to long-term relationships with our team members, families, and residents. While some companies view their facilities as profit-making investments that may be bought and sold when convenient, we are a small, not-for-profit community, meaning our investment is in our residents—now and in the future.

Do you allow pets?

It wouldn’t be home without your furry, finned or feathered friend. We encourage residents to bring their faithful companions, and we offer referrals for services such as dog walking.

Question 4

What is the difference between independent living and assisted living?

Accepted Answer

Independent living offers active seniors a maintenance-free lifestyle with access to our beautiful grounds and common areas, housekeeping and laundry services, and a vibrant social life. Independent living is ideal for residents who have predictable medical issues that can be self managed, or care is supplemented by Home Health or Home Care—and thus maintain an independent life in their private apartment. As needs progress, residents may transition to assisted living where around-the-clock care is available. In assisted living, we can help with activities of daily living such as: dressing, bathing, medication management, and more.

Our sister communities, Lifestream at Youngtown and Bethesda Gardens Phoenix, are well equipped with Assisted Living accommodations to serve these seniors' needs.

Question 5

Does Sun Valley Lodge offer care for those with dementia (or Alzheimer's disease)?

Although our Sun Valley Lodge community does not offer care for elders living with dementia, our sister communities, LifeStream at Youngtown and Bethesda Gardens Phoenix, are well equipped with dementia-care accommodations to serve these seniors' needs.

Why not a nursing home?

Accepted Answer

There is a vast stretch of road between retirement accommodations and the nursing home. Nursing homes were designed to provide patients with ongoing, highly-attentive medical and nursing services.  Doing this well can be costly, and patients have reduced privacy.  For those seniors whose health has not declined to the point where acute medical attention is required regularly environment may be an excellent alternative for your loved one.  Our residents enjoy active, productive lives with just enough support.  They can enhance their independence, tastes, hobbies, and worthwhile getting the support they need when they need it.
